FIRST LEGO League Challenge Teams

Ages 9-16 • September - February

Our FLL Challenge teams compete in the world's largest robotics competition for youth. Students work together to research real-world problems, design and program autonomous robots, and present their innovative solutions to judges.

What Students Learn:

  • Robot design and programming using LEGO MINDSTORMS or SPIKE Prime
  • Research and presentation skills
  • Project management and teamwork
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking

Season Timeline:

August: Fall Info Night & Team Formation
September-December: Weekly practices, robot building, research project
January: Regional Competition
February: State Championship (qualifying teams)

Tech Workshops

Ages 8+ • Year-round

Our coding bootcamps and tech workshops provide hands-on experience with programming, web development, and emerging technologies. Designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced coders.

Workshop Topics:

Python Basics

Learn programming fundamentals with Python through fun projects and games.

Web Development

Build websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Create your own online portfolio.

Scratch Programming

Visual programming for younger students. Create animations, games, and stories.

Arduino Projects

Hardware programming with sensors, LEDs, and motors. Build real electronic devices.

3D Design & Printing

Design objects in 3D software and bring them to life with 3D printing.

Mobile App Development

Create apps for Android and iOS using beginner-friendly development tools.

Career Mentoring

High School Students • Ongoing

One-on-one and small group mentoring for students interested in pursuing careers in technology, engineering, and related STEM fields. Our mentors are working professionals who provide guidance, support, and real-world insights.

Program Requirements & Registration

FLL Challenge Teams

  • Age: 9-16 years old
  • Commitment: Weekly 2-hour practices (September-February)
  • Cost: $150 per student (scholarships available)
  • Registration: Opens in July for following season

Tech Workshops

  • Age: 8+ (specific age requirements vary by workshop)
  • Schedule: Various times throughout the year
  • Cost: $25-50 per workshop
  • Registration: Ongoing - check calendar for upcoming sessions

Career Mentoring

  • Age: High school students (14-18)
  • Application required: Essay and recommendation letter
  • Cost: Free
  • Applications: Accepted year-round
